How it works
Many unfiltered impulses in the brain make it difficult to absorb relevant information and cause stress. This causes learning problems because the patient is so busy filtering that he cannot maintain his attention and concentration for long. Children in particular react to this with restlessness or reduced attention.

Suitable for whom
This method can help children and adults with reading and spelling difficulties, dyslexia, dyscalculia, auditory and visual perception disorders (lack of concentration, poor memory, slow comprehension), behavioral disorders such as ADD, ADHD, or hyperactivity, speech development disorders, autistic traits, spasms, or other motor impairments.
But language comprehension, hearing, and auditory processing disorders in seniors and adults, as well as people with burnout, stress, and depression symptoms, also fall within the scope of perception therapy.

Recognizing and understanding symptoms
children and students
This visual and auditory form of therapy can help children and adults with reading and writing difficulties, dyslexia, dyscalculia, auditory and visual perception disorders (lack of concentration, poor memory, slow comprehension), behavioral disorders such as ADD, ADHD or hyperactivity, speech development disorders, autistic traits, spasms or other motor impairments.
Adults with stress management, panic attacks and burnout
This visual and auditory form of therapy can help adults with a lack of concentration, poor memory, slow comprehension, or impaired motor skills. But speech comprehension, hearing, and auditory processing disorders in seniors and adults, and people with burnout, stress, and depression symptoms also fall within the scope of perception therapy.
Athletes: Stress reduction and muscle relaxation
Perception therapy is able to bring the autonomic nervous system back into balance through sound modulation. The advantages are: -Deep sensitivity is restored (injuries are prevented). -High tension is reduced. -The auditory and visual system is relieved (instructions are implemented even under high stress levels). -Prosocial development is initiated (team spirit). Performance is increased through smart vagus activation (deep sleep, recovery, cross-coordinated movement patterns and stress regulation through balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems).

The effect
AVWF training is based on the stimulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The 10th cranial nerve (vagus nerve) is stimulated via inner ear muscles, thus reaching the sympathetic and parasympathetic components of the autonomic nervous system. The simultaneous activation of the afferent and efferent fibers of the vagus nerve in the inner ear muscles creates feedback loops that are responsible for the regulation and sequencing components of the ANS.

Cost
The initial examination lasts 30 minutes, followed by a discussion of the results, and costs CHF 243.25 including VAT.
The 10-day therapy session, which includes personal support, a final assessment of visual and auditory perception, a dossier with the results, and an individualized treatment plan tailored to the perceptual disorders, costs CHF 2,918.70 (including VAT).
If a family wishes to treat several people with the same perceptual disorders in the same therapy session, the price per person is CHF 2,162.00 (including VAT).
In a group setting, the treatment plan is the same for all participants. Individual support is provided through visual training during therapy if needed.
Unfortunately, these costs are not yet covered by health insurance, disability insurance, etc.

The therapy
In my perception therapy, visual and auditory stimulation are combined in one procedure. This combines the long-standing successful visual therapy with the auditory therapy. The effectiveness increases significantly when both therapies are combined.
It is presented to the customer using sound-modulated tones for a period of 2 x 5 days, for one hour per day. The autonomic nervous system is stimulated via the muscles of the inner ear and the 10th cranial nerve (vagus nerve), thereby greatly improving basic auditory and visual functions.

Result
Through targeted stimulation of the autonomic nervous system, perception therapy achieves measurable improvements in neuronal processing. The treatment leads to the following positive effects:
The brain becomes "faster"
More successful learning behavior
gross and fine motor skills better
Improved body and spatial awareness
Oral motor skills and body coordination are positively influenced
Better perception and processing
Speed of information processing in the brain is increased considerably
stress reduction

I am an experienced functional optometrist with a Master of Science in Clinical Optometry and a Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry. Through my extensive training in optometry, sensorimotor integration, and the development of perceptual skills, I bring in-depth expertise to my work. My goal is to help people of all ages optimize their perception and sustainably improve their quality of life.
In perceptual therapy, I dedicate myself to the holistic promotion of perception through functional optometry and neurostimulation. For years, I have been supporting my patients with individually tailored vision training and neurostimulation to support balance in the autonomic nervous system and improve visual and auditory processing.
By combining visual and auditory stimulation, I increase the effectiveness of the methods and use state-of-the-art technology based on the findings of Dr. Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory and the AVWF® technology developed by Ulrich Conrady.
If you're interested, please email me for an initial consultation. Sometimes I can tell you during our phone call whether therapy would be suitable for your son or daughter. Sometimes I need to perform a preliminary examination to determine the correct diagnosis.

Course of therapy
For a period of two five-day sessions, one hour per day is spent listening to sound-modulated tones through headphones. During this time, patients can read, draw, play games, or even simply sleep. The effect is definitely present. Even after the 10-day program has ended, the performance of the stimulated brain continues to improve over the course of weeks and months.
In addition, I support the autonomic nervous system with appropriate neurological stimulation using scientific visual training and color light therapy, at the right time and in the right place.
The therapy aims to achieve a noticeable improvement in the perception of visual and auditory information through the combination of all stimuli. Many clients report positive changes in their ability to perceive.
